Belize Yacht Charters. Belize offers a variety of vacations, diving, adventure exploring and for history buffs the ancient ruins of the Mayas.
The diving is just excellent. Your captain will suggest a seven day itinerary that includes wall dives, medium depth reed dives and night dives. For new divers we can arrange for you to dive with a dive instructor.
Guests typically arrive at Belize City, Belize and stay at the Fort George Radisson Hotel which has a pier in front to allow for easy boarding. Continental and American Airlines have frequent flights to Belize City. It is 20 minutes from the airport to the boat and the hotel. The city has big supermarkets with a good choice of goods. While there are not marina facilities in the islands near the reef there is one good restaurant run by a French/Dutch couple. Cotton Ranch also offers fishing, kayaks, jacuzzi and lots of other water sports. For charters over one week Cotton Ranch will take divers further south along the Barrier Reef towards Placencia and Punta Gorda with stops at Gladden Spit, Ranguana Cay and Lime Cay.
For the adventurous sailors an itinerary covering the southern area of Belize and part of Guatemala offers rivers, wild life, Mayan ruins and jaguars or panthers. This itinerary would include the Rio Dulce River, Fronteras at the entrance to Lake Isabel on the Rio Dulce, and the Monkey River. On Cotton Ranch with its powerful engines all this is possible starting and ending in Belize City. On a smaller sailboat we would have to arrange either travel time or fly guests in and out of Placencia which is 116 miles south of Belize City.
For a more cultural experience and a more varied area an itinerary north and south of Belize City where there are numerous islands and cays inside the barrier reef that offer calm anchorages, can be offered. Here ocean kayaking, fishing, snorkeling are all excellent. Plus day trips will be arranged ashore to view Mayan ruins and surrounding countryside. Altunha, Xunantunich and Tikal are ruins that can be toured from Belize City. This trip could include Cay Caulker, Ambergris Cay, snorkeling at the Hol Chan Reserve and fishing to Southwater Cay.
So whether you want to dive the reef or explore the ruins and wild life Belize has a great deal to offer for charter guests exploring and still enjoying the luxury of a charter yacht. With great crew, fabulous food and comfortable accommodations.
